Missing WMI Classes

It’s amazing how often WMI is the source of agent troubles. It gets broken, corrupted, or is just stopped! If data is missing in WMI, try readding the classes.

*Note – often these must be run from an admin/elevated cmd prompt regardless if the user is an admin.

cd c:\windows\system32\wbem
mofcomp dnsprov.mof
mofcomp dnsetw.mof

SQL 2005
@ root\microsoft\sqlserver\computermanagement

SQL 2008
@ root\microsoft\sqlserver\computermanagement10

Mofcomp sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof
There should be ~65 objects listed

Physical Disk Drives

Cd c:\windows\system32\wbem
Mofcomp Servercompprov.mof
